Privacy Policy

Influencer Africa ("we", "us") operates influencerafrica.com and the Influencer Africa platform — a service that connects brands with content creators across Africa. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Creator profiles we build from public sources. Most profiles on the platform are put together from information that is already public on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X — a display name, handle, profile picture, biography, stated location, follower and engagement figures, and the kind of content the account posts. These creators have not signed up with us and may not know we list them. We build these profiles so that brands can find creators to work with, and we say plainly on every one of them that we do not represent that creator. Audience figures on these profiles are our own estimates, not figures supplied by the creator.

Creator profiles given to us directly. Names, countries, cities, languages, niches, contact details and handles provided by creators who applied to join, or added by our team where we have a working relationship with the creator.

If you would rather not be listed. Ask us and we will take your profile down — no account needed and no reason required. Use our removal page. You may also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.

Connected social accounts.When a creator chooses to connect an Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or X account, we receive public statistics for that account (such as follower counts, engagement, and audience demographics) through the official APIs of those platforms (Meta, TikTok, and Google/YouTube), strictly with the creator's authorization and only within the permissions they grant.

Brand and team accounts. Login credentials, contact details, and campaign information for brands and team members using the platform.

How we use it

We use this information to operate the platform: showing creator profiles and statistics to brands, planning and running marketing campaigns, processing payments for campaign work, and producing campaign reports. We do not sell personal information.

Third-party platforms

Social statistics are retrieved through the official developer APIs of Meta Platforms (Instagram and Facebook), TikTok, and Google (YouTube), under their respective terms. We only access data that the account owner has authorized, and we refresh or delete it in line with those platforms' policies. Disconnecting an account stops further collection.

Data retention & deletion

We keep information while a creator is listed or a brand account is active. Anyone can ask us to delete their data at any time. Creators who never signed up should use the removal page; if you connected a social account to us, the data deletion page covers that connection too. We respond within 30 days.

Your rights

Influencer Africa is operated from Ghana and handles personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to object to us listing you, and to have it deleted. Write to us at info@influencerafrica.com or use the removal page above. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

Security

Data is stored with our hosting providers (Vercel and Supabase) in the European Union, protected by encryption in transit and at rest, and accessible only to authorized team members.
