At Porials Pitch 2026, Influencer Africa helped Vaseline demonstrate that in a crowded retail festival, capturing attention is only the first step. By transforming a traditional display stand into a highly interactive consumer experience, the agency successfully bridged the gap between passive visibility, active product trial, and direct purchase.

Client & Challenge

Vaseline, in partnership with Influencer Africa, needed to stand out amidst the heavy foot traffic and competing stimuli of Porials Pitch, a vibrant retail festival held on April 18, 2026. The core challenge was to move beyond mere brand placement, giving consumers a compelling reason to stop, interact, and ultimately buy in an environment already saturated with products and offers.

Audience Insight

Shoppers at retail festivals are inherently in an exploratory, deal-seeking mindset. They arrive ready to compare products and participate in experiences. The campaign leaned into this behavior by designing an activation that served as a genuine interaction point, anchored by games, photos, and hands-on product engagement, rather than just a static branded booth.

Strategy & Creative Idea

The strategy designed by Influencer Africa was straightforward: turn visibility into participation, and participation into purchase consideration. Vaseline merged an interactive physical booth with digital creator amplification. Influencers and bloggers were brought in early to capture pre-event content before peak traffic, then leveraged their on-site presence to draw crowds to the stand and drive direct sales. This seamlessly connected the physical consumer experience with digital community engagement.

Channels & Execution

Influencer Africa integrated creators directly into the physical space, treating them as part of the consumer journey rather than a disconnected media channel.

On-Ground Activation: Interactive booth, consumer photography, and gamified participation.

Commerce: Direct product engagement, trial, and retail-driven sales.

Amplification: Pre-event and live-event content driven by influencer and blogger engagement.

Markets Covered

The campaign was highly localized, focusing exclusively on attendees and digital audiences surrounding the Porials Pitch 2026 event.

Measurable Outcomes

Engagement & Sales: High foot traffic translated directly into strong on-site product purchases, with consumers spending significant time interacting with the brand.

Operational Learnings: Heavy crowd build-up created challenges for movement and content capture, while poor network connectivity hindered bloggers' ability to post live updates.

Strategic Adjustments: These challenges yielded valuable recommendations for future activations, including establishing fixed shooting positions, identifying less congested zones for content creation, and securing dedicated media passes.

Influencer Africa Capabilities Involved

The campaign highlighted the agency's strong capabilities in Experiential Marketing, On-Ground Brand Activation, Influencer and Blogger Engagement, Retail-Driven Sales Strategy, and Live Event Content Production.

The strongest retail activations do not force consumers to choose between experience and commerce. By giving shoppers a space to stop, play, and trial, Influencer Africa and Vaseline turned a busy festival environment into a meaningful brand interaction that effectively drove the bottom line.
